Sex & Somatics: For Therapists & Others.
A Training for Psychotherapists, Physiotherapists, Counsellors, Coaches, and Other Helping & Healing Professionals
This weekend-long, 12-hour online foundations intensive will guide you through core teachings and practices for welcoming and holding clients’ erotic stories and souls in a consent-informed, sex-positive, and anti-capitalist environment (financial access information below).
In our work together, you will engage as someone who ‘wears many hats’—both as a practitioner who encounters topics of sex, pleasure, and gender in therapeutic settings, and as an erotic being with your own rich landscape to explore and deepen into. We will be exploring both of these facets throughout the weekend - and please know that any concepts I introduce or create space for exploration are by invitation: this is a choice-based container!
Together We Will Explore:
The 'Tyranny of Normal': We’ll examine the cultural dynamics around ‘normal’ as it pertains to sex, pleasure, bodies, and gender, considering how this affects both ourselves and our clients' erotic lives.
Erotic Cultures and Values: We’ll discuss the values we choose to uphold in professional practice and in our personal lives, cultivating ‘guiding stars’ that help direct us toward what feels truly important.
Embodied Tools for Pleasure and Grounding: Practical tools for grounding and embracing pleasure (after all, we become what we practice!).
Somatic Consent and Boundaries Practices: Practices to support ourselves and our clients in connecting to inner wisdom and intuitive knowing.
Learning Outcomes:
Embodiment Practices: Tools to support you and/or your clients in:
Establishing a felt sense of safety
Grounding into the body
Connecting with sensation and attuning to pleasure
Belief Systems Beyond Normativity: Philosophies and tools to foster belief systems that go beyond mainstream cultural norms, with an emphasis on ‘new culture’ frameworks around sex, community, gender, and pleasure.
Theoretical Learning and Somatic Inquiry: Educational insights into neuroplasticity, attachment theory, the nervous system, regulation, mechanisms of pleasure, and embodied consent.
Facilitating Embodiment Practices: Practical session time to refine your facilitation of these practices.
Encouraged Pre-Requisites:
A reverently irreverent attitude
A willingness to ‘not know’ and embrace uncertainty
A suspicion of binaries
An agenda (covert or not) to welcome weirdness
A commitment to racial justice and disability justice
A reverence for the juicy, sticky, & messy pleasures of the body
What You Will Need:
A stable internet connection with access to Zoom
A quiet, private space for the weekend
Note-taking tools of your choice (this training will not be recorded, and AI bots are not welcome for privacy purposes). If you have accessibility requirements, please reach out.
Joyful snacks & nourishing treats (pleasure is a fuel, not a reward!)
Comfortable clothing
Training Details & Payment:
Dates: Saturday, January 12 & Sunday, January 13
Time: 9 AM to 3 PM PST (12-6 PM EST), with a break from 11:30-12:30 PST
Cost: $1200 CAD, with discounts available.
When considering the training fee, I encourage you to reflect on your financial situation, including identity-based or economic privilege, earning potential, and any financial support available from family or network. Paying the standard rate, if you’re able, enables me to offer discounts to those who need them.
I say this because people might assume that offering discounts means I don’t need the money or to humour those who prefer to pay less. Rather, I offer discounts as a commitment to anti-capitalist practices in my business and a tangible support for those truly needing economic assistance. About Me:
With over 15 years in the field of sexuality, I am passionate about guiding people in developing conscious, connected, trauma aware relationships with their pleasure, eroticism, and agency. Over my years in practice, I have taught at universities in Canada and the USA, served as adjunct faculty at the Institute for the Study of Somatic Sex Education, and facilitated Sex & Somatics a number of times. I delight in refining years of practice into courses that support allied professionals on their personal and professional journeys.
When I’m not seeing clients or teaching, you’ll often find me soaking up the sun, gardening, or swinging kettlebells in so-called Victoria, BC.
Testimonials:
So many things went well. I have never been as present during a training as I was in this one and permission to show up in whatever way had a lot to do with it. […] I really appreciated this training and connected to it as an invitation to make intentional my embodied erotic practices in service of myself and my work in the world.

I found our shared time together as a group really sweet, nurturing, affirming and informative! I was especially moved by your facilitation style and attentiveness to inclusivity, permission and honouring of each person in the shared container and I continue to reference the materials and concepts/insights we shared!
-Anonymous Attendee
I think it was just the right balance of simple tools that can immediately be integrated into an established practice by weaving it into psychotherapeutic interventions I already know. […] I really appreciated Noah’s openness as an instructor and how many choice-points there were throughout the training. I felt empowered to engage as I wanted and also disengage as I wanted. I was so grateful Noah put this training together, it was exactly what I hoped it would be!
-Anonymous Attendee
Everything [in the training] was wonderful. I particularly enjoyed the slowed pace and lots of time for questions, check ins, honouring people's experiences during the training
-Anonymous Attendee
I highly recommend Noah's workshops--they are a seasoned, experienced, and wonderful teacher of pleasure and trauma recovery!

I participated in Noah's Sex and Somatics workshop and I'd like to offer a shout-out/endorsement for their training. Noah is a mindful and deeply inclusive facilitator, they shared many practical and meaningful resources that resonate with me personally and professionally. Noah encourages participants to share their wisdom on each topic for inquiry which resulted in a rich set of tools and insights!

We invited Noah to join Our Landing Place for our annual team training this year. Noah provided 2 days of incredibly nuanced and deep knowledge and was able to seamlessly guide us through experiential and theoretical learning activities that were accessible to all of us, regardless of our levels of prior knowledge and training. Noah cultivated a safe container for us to be vulnerable and explore new ideas and strategies, which has increased our team's confidence in and ability to support our clients through Somatic Sex Education and Therapy. I can't recommend Noah highly enough.
